Board: Kanban boards with a review gate

Board is a new EvoHub product for tracking work, such as the action items that come out of incidents and retros.

Boards

  • Lists and cards with drag and drop, updating live for everyone on the board.
  • Start from a template or a blank board.
  • Board members with owner, editor and viewer roles, plus board settings and visibility.

The review gate

  • Mark one list as review and one as done. A card in review must be approved by someone it is not assigned to before it can be finished.
  • Moving an approved card back to work uses up the approval, so changes made afterwards are reviewed again.
  • Boards without a review list work like any other board.

Cards

  • Assignees, labels, a checklist, comments and a due date, plus a history of everything that happened to the card.
  • Every card has a short reference such as DEV-42, so it can be mentioned in a stand-up or a commit message. Search accepts references.
  • Link a card to the EvoHub item it came from, such as an alert, an incident, a schedule, an uptime monitor, a retro or a status page, by pasting its address.

Finding and finishing work

  • Search and filter by assignee, label or due date. Filters are saved in the address, so a filtered board can be shared.
  • An Archive tab for finished cards, with optional automatic archiving.
  • A list can celebrate a card landing in it with a short effect. Effects never play for people who have reduced motion turned on.
